Master of Ministry
Ministry Studies is a field which has taken significant strides in theological education since the beginning of the 1980s. The Ministry Studies program explicitly engages the insights of the social sciences and the resources of the Scriptures and the Christian tradition. In doing so, it recognises the contexts of the communities involved in Christian ministry, and the distinct place of ordained and other authorised ministers.
The MCD University of Divinity Master of Ministry degree is a postgraduate award which represents a distinctive approach to the enhancement of professional ministry. Its primary focus is on the context and experience of Christian ministry, especially as developed by each candidate through a Supervised Research Project that typically ncludes theological, personal and sociological analyses of church and ministry in a particular setting. The course offers opportunities to engage in a significant academic enterprise, to become better informed about recent developments in theological disciplines, and to demonstrate the integration of the theory and practice of ministry.
